Detox Smoothie (get rid of heavy metals)

This Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie

packs a powerful nutritional punch! Greenish bananas, rich in resistant starch, provide a sustained source of energy and promote digestive health. Wild blueberries, bursting with antioxidants, support brain function and immune strength. Fresh cilantro not only adds a refreshing kick but also boasts detoxifying properties.

Coconut water provides essential electrolytes, helping to keep you hydrated, while lemon juice adds a zesty twist of vitamin C. To supercharge the green goodness, we’ve included barley grass juice powder and chlorella, both renowned for their detoxifying and alkalizing properties.

But that’s not all! This recipe goes coastal with a small handful of Atlantic dulse, a mineral-rich seaweed that brings a hint of the ocean to your glass. Blend it all together for a nutrient-rich, refreshingly tropical delight that’s as nutritious as it is delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 greenish bananas
  • 2 cups wild blueberry
  • 1 cup cilantro
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • 1 tsp barley grass juice powder
  • 1 tsp chlorrela
  • 1 small handful of Atlantic dulse
  • 1 tbsp nut butter
  • 1 tbsp  flax/ chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Peel the greenish bananas and cut them into chunks. Greenish bananas are excellent for this smoothie as they provide a creamy texture and are a great source of resistant starch.
  2. Rinse the fresh cilantro thoroughly under cold water. Remove any tough stems, leaving the tender leaves and upper stems for a milder flavor.
  3. In a blender, add the banana chunks, wild blueberries, cilantro leaves and stems, coconut water, and the juice of half a lemon.
  4. Sprinkle in the barley grass juice powder and chlorella for an extra nutritional boost. These superfoods are known for their detoxifying and alkalizing properties.
  5. Break the small handful of Atlantic dulse into smaller pieces and add them to the blender. Atlantic dulse is rich in minerals and adds a hint of ocean flavor.
  6. Secure the blender lid and blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. If the consistency is too thick, you can add more coconut water to reach your desired thickness.
  7. Pour your vibrant blueberry banana smoothie into glasses. Garnish with additional cilantro leaves or blueberries if desired. Sip, savor, and enjoy the nourishing goodness!
  8. This nutrient-packed smoothie is not only a delightful treat for your taste buds but also a nutritious addition to your day. Cheers to your health!
